Key #5: SET IT UP! |
|
So, you've designed the perfect web site to showcase your company's product(s) or service(s), provide information about your firm, and attract potential clients. Both the image and the content leave viewers with an excellent impression. But maybe we're getting ahead of ourselves. The Internet is bloated with business web pages, and more are being added every single day. How do you make sure that your site will be noticed? How do you get these potential customers to look at your site?
First your should chose and register a unique domain name (ie. http://www.yourcompany.com/).
There are a number of places (E.g. ISPs) where you can do this. In order to be found on the Internet you need to register your site with all the major search engines. This includes Yahoo!, Lycos, Altavista, HotBot, Excite, WebCrawler, Google, AlltheWeb and so on. There are many, many, many search engines out there, as well as services that will register your site for you. However, the traffic that you get will mostly be from the major engines. Make sure that you include meta tags with keywords on every page, to increase the chances of appearing in the top search results.
Through the SBIXpress Newsletter, Finally do not forget to include your company web site address in your e-mail signature, on business cards, stationary, print ads and other material that potential customers could read.
